WILL
In the name of God Amen this fifth day of March in the fowerth yeare of the Raigne of our Sovraigne Lord and Lady King William and Queene Mary over England and in the yeare of our Lord one thousand six hundred nynety one
I Jane Owthwaite of Dallagil l in the County of Yorke widow sick in body but of good and perfect memory and remembrance praisd be to God but calling to mynd the uncerteynty of this life and that all flesh must dye and being desireous to setle and dispose of what the Almighty hath in his greate goodness lent me in this world, doe make this my last will and testament in manner and forme following

First and principally I give my soule into the hands of Almighty God that made it hopeing through the merritts death and passion of my saviour to have remission of my sinns and to enjoy eternall life And my body to be buryed in desent manner as my Executors I have after named shall think fitt

And for my Reall and personal estate I doe give bequeath and devise the same as
followeth

Imprimis I give and bequeath to my nephew John Wood and to his fower children now liveing twelve pound apiece to each of them

Item I give and bequeath to my neice Hester wife of William Sargison twenty shillings and to her oldest son Samuell Sargison twenty shillings
Item I give and bequeath to all the five younger children of the said William and Hester Sargison to each of them ten shillings apiece

Item I give and bequeath to my neise Maudlin Wood twenty shillings to bee paid her in fower years five shillings a yeare according as she shall stand need thereof as my executors shall fynd most convenient

Item I give and bequeath to the three children of John Colthous? and Elizabeth his wife now liveing ten shilling apeice

Item I give to Jane wife of John Burrill of Larton one shilling , to Rebecca wife of John Wood of Dallagh one shilling, to Leonard Smickersgill of Dallagill one shilling, to Isabell wife of William Walkingham? of Misses one shilling, to William Ryder of Dallagill one shilling and to Jane wife of Richard Slater one shilling being all the six Godchildren I have now liveing

Item I give and bequeath to Elizabeth wife of Francis Smith and to their daughter Mary twenty shillings that is to say ten shillings apiece

Item I give to the said Mary Smith other ten shillings over and above the ten shillings I before gave her

Item I give to the poore that comes for my dole to the church att Kirkby Malzeard att my funeral the sume of three pounds to bee dealt by my executors hereafter named

Item in case my nephew John Wood doe pay me or my executors what is justly due to me out of my late husbands estate without truble I doe give and bequeath to him over and above the legacy before given the sume of five pounds

And I doe hereby revoke all former wills by me made And doe hereby make constitute and ordaine Roger Bayne of Ripon in the County of York, gen and Thomas Grainge of Wakeall yeoman my trusty? freinds executors of this my will to whome I give devise grant and bequeath all the rest and residue of my reall and personall estate and to their executors administrators and assignes they paying my debts legacyes and funeral expenses
In witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the said 5th day of March 1691 [1692]

CODICIL
Whereas by this will I have given to my nephew John Wood two severall legacys one of twelve pence and another of five pounds now my will and mynd further is that the same legacy of five pounds shall and is hereby revoked and made voyd and I doe give him instead thereof one shilling and I doe further give and bequeath to the fower children five shillings apiece.
