Masham Pec’r 1697. Will of William Horsman Sen’r of Dallycarr Deceased

In the name of God Amen the first day of Aprill in the year of our Lord one thousand six hundredth eightie and nine of William Horsman the Elder of Dally carr in the Parish of Kirkbie Maulseard And Countie of Yorke yeoman weake in bodie but sound in mind perfect in memorie praised be Almightie God for the same and calling to mind the uncertaintie of this transetorie life and that all flesh must yield unto Death when it shall please god to call and minding to set in order my worldly Estate And such things as it hath pleased God to bestow upon me in this world Doe make and ordaine this my last will and Testament in Manor and form following

first And Above all things I Give and bequeath to my Soule To you my maker hoping to be saved by the oath and passion of Jesus Christ my only saviour and Redeemer And my Bodie to be buried in Christian Burriall as for my worldly Estate I give and bequeath as followeth

Imprimis I give and bequeath unto William Horsman my Sone all that Messuage or Dwelling house whear I now dwell called Tom Corner and one garth their unto adjoining and those two Closes of Meadow called Tom Corner Close and Dalley hill adjoining of the said Dwelling house as the said Close called Dalley hill if now Divided by a Certaine fence from one other Close Called Dalley hill which I did formerly give unto my Dear Sone Edward Horsman late Deceased Amongst other lands together with all and singular houses barns buildings Stables Edificies now standing and being upon the premises or any part thereof And also one pasture Gate in the Intake called Dalley Intake with all Comons Comon of Pasture and Turberie and all other profitts Advantages and Apurenances whatsoever to the same belonging or in any wise Appertaining to have And to hold the said before Mentioned premises with Appurtenances and everie part and parcel theirof unto the said William Horsman my sone his heirs executors administrators and assigns from And immediately after my Decease for and during all the tearme or tearmes of years which shall be then unrann? and unexpiored in any lease or writing which I have of the premises or otherwise howsoever

Item I doe also give unto the said William Horsman my Sone all my Title Interest Tenant right Claime and demand which I have in two leases from Mr Timothy Horsman of kirkbie Maulseard and Mr John Lister of Brathwaite of two tenements in Dalley gill and Dalley carr called Tom Corner and fair hill from and after the death and decease of me the said William Horsman the Elder as Aforesaid and also

I give unto the said William my Sone one Standing bedstead with all the bedding and furniture therin unto belonging as it is now standing in the west parlour and also one Cabbinet and one (paper torn and missing) in the house and one Tuene? Chirne

Item I give unto my Daughter Marie hebdins children that is to say Marie Jane and Elling and everie one of them fifteen pounds Appointed and unto Christopher hebdin his sone five pounds to be paid unto them when they shall accomplish their ages of one and twentie years and if it shall happen that any of them shall Dye before they be at the age Aforesaid then I give his or her part soe Dying to be equally divided Amongst the rest of her children which shall be then Alive

Item I give unto my sone Edward Horsman Children to witt William Elizabeth Edward Thomas and John everie one of them fiftie shillings apiece to be paid unto them as they shall accomplish their severall ages of one and twentie years and if any of them Dye before they be at the age Aforesaid the other that shall live shall have their parts soe dying equally Amongst them.

Item I doe hearby give all the rest of my household stuffs except that before Given
unto my Sone William unto Marie hebdin my Daughter and the said William my
Sone equally to be divided betwixt them as for all the rest of my Goods both
moveable and immoveable unbequeathed in this my will allow my debts and
legacies payd and funerall expenses discharged

I doe hearby Give unto William Horsman my Sone whom I doe Make Nominate and Appoint Sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament adnulling and making void by these presents all other wills by me formerly maid And this onely to be taken for my last will and testament and none other In witness whear of I have hearunto set my hand and Seale the Day and year first above written
