Last Will and Testament of EDWARD DALLOW of Carlsmoor dated 2nd August 1766

In the name of God, Amen
I Edward Dallow of Carlsmoor in the Parish of Kirkby Malzeard in the County of York Taylor being old and weak of Body but of sound and perfect mind and memory Praised be Almighty God for the same do make and Publish this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say)

First I give and bequeath to Katherine Dallow my loving Wife the sum of three pounds ten shillings Yearly and Every Year during her Natural Life to be paid at two half year payments the first payment to be made half a year after my Decease but the second at the years End or day of my Decease and So Continue During her Natural life as aforesaid and for Default of payment to Enter into and upon the house wherein I now Dwell together with one Cow gate or adjusting for one in Carlsmoor pasture and also one Close lying on the North side of the said house Comonly Called West garth or Job Croft

I also give to my Said wife house Room and free Liberty to Dwell During her Natural Life in the house I now live in and a Bed with what appertaineth and belongeth thereto and the use of my household goods so long as she and my Executor hereafter named can agree to Dwell together and in case they do not agree or choose to live together my will and mind is that my Executor provide her another house in Carlsmoor Sufficient for her degree and Station and that she have her Bed and her necessaries thereto; and household goods necessarie to furnish the house she remove to So as the same in Value do not amount to above thirty Shillings

and Lastly I give and bequeath to Edward Dallow my Son all my houses land tenements and premises of what nature or kind So ever the same be Situate at Carlsmoor aforesaid or elsewhere or to him my Said Son his Executors Administrators or assigns During the termination of my right title and Interest therein and all my goods Chattels and personal Estate and all my effects whatsoever and wheresoever I give to my said Son
And I do hereby nominate and appoint Edward Dallow my Son aforesaid Sole Executor of this my last Will and testament

In witness whereof I Edward Dallow have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this Second day of August in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and Sixty Six

Signed Sealed published and declared by the said Edward Dallow to be his last will and Testament in presence of us who have hereunto Subscribed our names as Witnesses in his presence and at his request
