This is the last Will and Testament of me Eleanor Linton of Laverton in the Parish of Kirkby Malzeard in the County of York, Widow made this 28th day of July one thousand eight hundred and eighty one. I appoint my nephew John Tennant of Gate Bridge House near Galphay in the said County, Farmer, sole Executor and Trustee of this my last Will .
I give to my brother Thomas Richmond of Laverton Hall, Laverton my Indian Cedar Chest for his own use. I give to my niece Mary Ellen Preston the wife of John Preston of Ash Hill, Shap in the County of Cumberland a Legacy of two hundred pounds for her own use And I direct that the same be paid to her by my sister Elizabeth Tennant hereinafter mentioned twelve months after my decease. I also give to my niece Selina Elizabeth Tennant (a daughter of my sister Elizabeth Tennant) a Legacy of one hundred pounds which I direct shall be a vested interest in my said niece on her attaining the age of twenty one years but not payable until after the decease of her said mother. And in case my said niece shall die under the age of twenty one years then the said last mentioned Legacy shall lapse.
I give devise and bequeath unto my said sister Elizabeth Tennant for her own absolute use and benefit All those my two cottages or tenements situate at Laverton aforesaid with the outbuildings and appurtenances there unto belonging one of which cottages is now in the occupation of myself and the other is occupied.

Also all those my three closes or parcels of land situate at or near Laverton aforesaid now in the occupation of the said John Tennant And all other my real estate (if any) whatsoever and wheresoever And all my household furniture and effects (except my Indian Cedar Chest) moneys and securities for money and all other my personal estate and property of whatever kind the same may be To hold the same unto my said sister Elizabeth Tennant her heirs executors administrators and assigns Subject nevertheless, and I charge my said real and personal estates with the payment of all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses and also the said two legacies of two hundred pounds and one hundred pounds hereinbefore given to my said nieces
